Self Introduction. Material for kids!

I really enjoyed this video. It can be used either with a small group or a big one just to show examples of introductions containing name, surname, age and why not? flags. It can also be an icebreaker of countries and nationalities. I am sure your kids will join speaking  after the video ends.  https://youtu.be/KCZAtgacc7I

Meet Viljo Kohonen, Finn Professor at Tampere University 1280 x 720)

Teacher as a researcher Professor Viljo Kohonen, a retired University Professor of Education shares his work in this video as teacher as researcher and more. He says that a teacher might be a curious person about his/ her work and reflective too; a person who has to work against evaporation. From my point of view our work as teachers demands us to be updated and to be “eternal students”. So I agree with Professor Kohonen. The man also suggests that in order to explore his work a teacher should record analyze it. Professor Kohonen mentions the idea of finding “camaderie”, “collegiability” with our colleages. Working as teachers we sometimes isolate ourselves. It means that we tend to work on our own and this is not advisable. Sometimes busy schedules and running out of time cause that kind of situation. In this video, we can find that empowerment comes from trust and from sharing with other teachers as well. It takes little time and it is very useful. We just have to make an e

Differences between L1 and L2 In this video you will meet the main differences between language acquisition and language learning. By their names you can realize that L1 means that when you acquire a particular type of  knowledge  you are involved in a process of learning  it or developing it whereas learning L2 is the process of gaining knowledge through studying. On the one hand; acquisition is unconscious and intrinsic by birth. It is acquired quickly and complete almost perfectly. It also occurs rapidly which means that it happens without instruction just by listening and imitating others. On the other hand; learning happens consciously. It is a personal choice that involves motivation. Here the learning speed varies and it is never achieved as a native speaker. This kind of process can be natural as the acquisition or guided by an instructor. This means that the steps of gaining a language need somebody to teach it. I hope you enjoy it and you find it as clear as I f

Numbers song! Enjoy and learn

Enjoy with numbers! The Singing Walrus presents "Number song 1-20 for children" - an upbeat chant that helps kids count the numbers 1-20. The kids all count from 1-20 together three times, each time counting faster than the previous. This is perfect for preschool aged children, and for young learners of ESL and EFL! Today I had  a whole class devoted to numbers with my first group of kids. They are about 8-9 years old and they attend to private lessons in order to be prepared to start their English lessons at school in two years time. I projected the  following video I found in Youtube and the students really loved it! The first  time they sang it timidly. However, the second and third time they louded their  voices in chorus. They laughed because the song increased it speed so we had to  sing it twice. I recommend the video for you and your students in case you need  to revise them! I also prepared some activities such as sums, unscramble the words (so they practic
